Description
Here’s my arrangement of “Forbidden Colours”, or “Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence”, mainly based on a piano solo rendition that I particularly like.
Most difficult part begins at measure 18, where the main theme starts: left hand is pretty streched there, but you may find yourself in similar situations here and there. Don’t panic. My suggestion is to simplify the voicings, in order to set some fingers free.
You can add repetitions of the theme, too. I kept 4 times per section, but do as you please. Just don’t go too far š
One final note: tab says “Capo 1st fret”, but if you watch the video, you’ll notice that I don’t use any. I added that indication because you may want to play along the piano version, or some other recording. In that case you’ll need the capo.
You may also want a bit of ease for your left hand: move the capo up to third fret. Don’t overdo here, or your guitar will end up sounding like an ukulele š
Anyway, the arrangement is in standard tuning.
